isitactive is a real-time busyness map for Charlotte. It answers two questions, depending on the time of day.
play is for the evening: bars and breweries, and the question is where it's actually happening. Stop driving across town to a dead patio.
work is for the day: coffee shops, bakeries, markets and food halls, and the question is the opposite one — can you get a seat? A packed room is good news at nine at night and bad news at nine in the morning, so the same reading is worded and colored the other way around.
The app picks a side based on the clock, and the switch in the top corner overrides it whenever you like. Search still finds every venue in both modes — a bar shouldn't be unreachable just because it's two in the afternoon.
